BWA:s kongress i Sydafrika år 2015
När Baptisternas Världsallians samlas igen, på sin tjugoförsta kongress i juli år 2015, blir det i Sydafrika.
Om fem år ses världens baptister i Durban. Sydafrika är då för första gången värd för BWA:s kongress. Detta meddelades under BWA:s kongress i Honolulu i månadsskiftet juli-augusti. Paul Msiza, president för den afrikanska baptistgemenskapen, uttryckte sin stora glädje över beslutet. South Africa to host 2015 Baptist World Congress
Washington (BWA) - The 21st Baptist World Congress will be held in Durban, South Africa, in July 2015.This announcement was made by Baptist World Alliance General Secretary Neville Callam during the BWA Executive Committee meeting on July 27. The Executive Committee is one of several BWA bodies that are having meetings before the start of the 20th Baptist World Congress in Honolulu, Hawaii, from July 28 to August 1.Paul Msiza, president of the All Africa Baptist Fellowship and general secretary of the South Africa Baptist Convention, expressed great delight that South Africa has been chosen to host the next meeting of the largest international gathering of Baptist Christians."It will be an honor to the Baptists of South Africa and to Africa to host the Baptist World Congress," Msiza told executive members. He indicated that hosting the recent FIFA World Cup, the most widely viewed sporting event in the world which was held in South Africa from June 11 to July 11, provide South Africa with good experience to host Baptists from around the world. "You will enjoy South African hospitality," Msiza said. He noted that travelling to South Africa will be affordable and much easier as, with the World Cup, more airlines have opened up routes to the country.Approximately 4,000 Baptists from 105 countries are gathering in Honolulu for the 20th world congress to share in worship, fellowship, mission, and study.
